FFSC

FlameFree Sunday Confession here...

My boy has a shiner!   DH was playing with him upstairs and I hear a THUD and then crying.  Charlie was sliding off our bed, lost his balance and hit the end table right below his eye.  It instantly got a little swollen and turned purple.   But he just cried a little bit and was back to running around.

Luckily, it looks much better today.  We put a little ice on it last night and that seemed to help a lot.  Still, I'm not taking him to church for fear that someone will report us to DHS!

Sigh.

Re: FFSC

  • Aw...poor little guy! Back in Feb, DH tripped while carrying D (long story). He dropped her about a foot off the ground and she landed facefirst on asphalt. She had bruises on her nose, major road rash on her lip and her lip was swollen to twice it's size. She looked beaten up. I didn't take her out for 4 days because I didnt want people to report us! BUT - she healed completely in less than a week. It's amazing how quickly they heal.

I think we all have a similar story to tell. Luckily, they're pretty resilient!

  • V rolled off the couch once and I freaked out.  As I was telling my older cousins the story they laughed and said "do you know how many times our kids fell off the changing table?"
