So I was watching this show and there are two families profiled.
The first was a family in Pennsylvania with eleven kids. There oldest was 22 was watching the kids for an income.
First of all, she is constantly swearing around and AT these kids. She calls them brats CONSTANTLY and is just a really mean person. She is also extremely immature. She starts complaining to her mother about how she lives at home and doesn't have a car. Then her mom says something like, "I know it's hard now but one day you'll be able to be independent." Then she pretty much freaks out and is like "I AM INDEPENDENT, WOAH THERE!" I'm just like, I live on my own and have a car and I know that I'm not wholly independent, so how can you be so delusional? Then she BAILS on her parents and moves out, just out of the blue, no notice........
Oh and their children were unhelpful, rude, and had VERY poor behavior.
The second was a family of 14 children and the middle child was taking upon the most responsibility for her siblings, she was 17.
First of all, this girl absolutely touched me. She is so great with her siblings and never talks down to them and NEVER says ONE foul word around or towards them, or at all. The children were pretty well behaved, and the older children would intervene if not, which, I am sure, is how they all come to be better behaved children. Their father had left them and their mother had found a great man to be with. He is really respectful and great with the kids and the kids are all VERY receptive of him. They got engaged and then married.
This is a family of very great people. Yes, the children can misbehave, whose don't at one point or another, but it's not constant and treated with foul words but redirection.
I just think that if this comes on again you should really watch it because the latter family is just really touching and kind of inspirational to me. So much so that I had to post this.
That and I would like to get the post without the ticker warning off the "front page" of this board..........
Re: True Life on MTV (I Have too Many Siblings)
I saw the show today, also. The 22 year old was unbelievable and at the same time I just can't understand how the parents can live in a separate apartment 3 hrs away in NYC from Monday - Friday?! They are basically only parenting 2 days a week. So weird! They don't say what the 22 year old got her college degree in, but it's a shame she can't find any type of job. I think she's just too immature.
The 17 year old was very responsible. I cannot imagine how the hell the father had all of those kids and then just walks away from it?! I wonder if he is paying child support, because that has to be most of his paycheck. I'm glad that the mom found a new husband that seems to really love the family.
