Menopur users, help please! (and an update)

Hey ladies! I went to the RE this morning and got the all clear to start stims for ivf #1 today!!!!

Here's my question...I am taking Gonal F and Menopur together for two nights. My gonal f is a powder and i mix it with the sterile water syringe and done. He said when i do that, i can also add the menopur powder to the same syringe. Well my menopur came in a kit that has 5 vials of a tablet and 5 vials of sodium chloride liquid to mix. Am i supposed to mix the sodium choloride with the tablet and then add the gonal f to that? I guess im confused because the vial says sodium chloride. Do you think i just use the sterile water and the 2 gonal f tablets and 2 menopur tablets? Does the sodium chloride make a difference? Thanks for the help!!!

I have no idea about mixing both the menopur and the gonal f. The menopur you do mix with the sodium chloride. The sodium chloride dissovles the tablet. Good luck, there are tons of videos on youtube to show you have to do it too!

Thanks love I ended up calling the RE, good thing too! Originally he said to dissolve all the powders in the prefilled syringe that has just sterile water. He'd rather me use the sodium chloride to dissolve both. So this is a little more work but at least we know we are doing it right! Whew! lol

Hey Jezzie...I used 1ml of normal saline to mix 3 vials of Bravelle with 3 vials of Menopur.  Even when they increased my dose to 4 vials of each, I continued to use 1ml of normal saline to mix all 8 vials together!!!  By the end of mixing, it was alittle less than 1ml and everything went just fine.  GL:)

It is so interesting how we are all so different. I use 2 vials of Menopur and mix them with 1 ml of the sodium chloride. I then take 150IU of Follistim and insert the needle into the menopur and give myself the shot that contains the menopur, sodium chloride and the Follitsim all in one so I do not have to have 2 shots. It was confusing to me at first too.

Thanks Ladies! Turns out we use 1ml of sodium chloride and not the sterile water or saline. Then we continue to mix the four powders until everything is in one. So far, so good. Except for the stinging!!!

Sodium chloride is saline... I'm glad you got an answer from your doc

HA! That shows how much i know! lol Guess i got confused because last time with gonal f we used a prefilled syringe that had i think just sterile water in it. I got confused when there was more mixing the stuff. Thanks for the clarification
