I woke up last night and noticed I had a dull, throbbing pain in one of my nipples (it wasn't enough to wake me up - I woke up from a nightmare). It's still there this morning. I looked at it and noticed that it is red and a little blistery looking around the outer edge. It didn't hurt to nurse this morning.
Is this thrush? I've been on three antibiotics in the past two weeks, so that's my guess, but I've never had it before (on my boob), so I'm not sure.
Re: BFing Question: Nipple Pain
Ditto to it could be a milk blister, especially if it looks blistery. I haven't had thrush, but from the friends I know that have, you can't tell by *looking* at your breasts/nipples that something is wrong. When I had a milk blister, it looked like a pimple/blister on my nipple.
If it continues, though, I'd definitely get it checked out, just for peace of mind.
