I've been trying to do some research on Emerson and Winchester hospitals (I had another post below). Has anyone had experience delivering at Emerson or with affiliated OBs, in particular, the Concord OBGYN practice?
My cousin's wife delivered at Emerson in Jan--she loved it. I'll be seeing her on Wed if you have any specific questions I'll ask her; I'm not sure who her OB was/where the dr was out of
I delivered at Emerson in July. I had a great experience there. The nurses in L+D and Maternity were angels. I didn't use the same docs, though. I used Kramer OB/GYN, specifically Dr Hale and Dr Sinopoli. They were wonderful! I'll be using them and Emerson when I'm pg again!
I will be delivering at Emerson any day now! I had to go to L&D around 33 wks and the nurses were great! I am using Concord OB and all the dr.'s are wonderful Dr. Travias and Dr. Rubin are our fav's but all 4 do a wonderful job and all the staff are great to work with. HTH
I delivered at Emerson in June. I also go to Concord OBGYN. I liked both. I really liked Emerson, I was lucky to deliver there a couple weeks after they opened the new birthing center. It was wonderful. My daughter had to stay in the special care nursery part of the nursery and the nurses couldn't have been nicer and so helpful to me during a challenging time for us. I really liked Concord OBGYN as well. I went to one in Marlboro the year prior and hated it. I think there is a new doctor since I went there, but the 3 that I saw were great. Page me if you have any questions. Good Luck!
I ended up not delivering there because I decided to deliver with midwives instead, but I did see the docs at Concord OB/GYN for some of my prenatal care. They were fine, but I didn't love them. I never met Dr. Travias, but I heard good things about him, so I wish I had. Dr. Bond was very sweet, and Dr. Jordano-Alter was very business, but I felt very rushed in and out. I know prenatal care can bea little like that, but I just didn't connect with them. That said, I didn't have any indication that they were incompentent in anyway, just not as warm as I would have liked for me.
I delivered at Emerson in June. I loved it! I mostly went to the Sudbury practice, but I also went to the Concord office a few times. My doc was Balcomb...she is great! I don't think I would have made it with out my nurse (Amanda) during delivery...she was wonderful. Good luck and page me with any questions. I can't praise Emerson enough.
This is good to know. I had my daughter at Newton-Wellesley, which I loved. But I was working in Newton at the time so it was very convienient, but now Emerson would make much more sense once we have a second baby on the way. It's nice to hear that it's a great hospital.
I will be delivering there in February (and I was born there 30 years ago)
I also go to Concord OBGYN. I love Dr. Rubin and Dr. Bond. I havent met Dr. Travais yet or Jordana Alter....but I LOVE Dr. Rubin. They have their own ultrasound set up there so you never need to wait. I really like them.
I loved it, and that was before the new maternity wing got finished. It's got flat screen HD TV's, more comfy beds for the hubbies, and I've heard it's wonderful now.
Hi! I just also go to Concord OBGYN and so far everyone has been very nice and helpful. I have only been twice so far but I had an ultrasound right away and we were able to hear the baby's heartbeat at 7 weeks! My friends had to wait a lot longer than that to have an ultrasound.
I was referred by a friend of a friend to meet Dr. Jordano-Alter but I have not met her yet. She actually delivered one of my good friends baby (Dr Jordano was on call at Emerson at the time) and she said she is "all business" but she felt very comfortable with her. I guess it is what type of doctor you are looking for!
