Do I need (another) new DCP?

My son goes to an in-home DCP full time.  The only other kid there right now is a 1 year old who goes 3 days per week and I'm pretty good friends with his mom.  My friend is pretty particular about what her son eats because he has constipation issues and she is really diligent about healthy eating.  She asked our DCP not to give her son Cheerios because she only wants him to eat the food that she sends with him.  It was about a week ago that my friend told me this.

Today when I went to drop off my son, my friend's son was in the high chair eating Cheerios.  I'm planning on telling my friend what I saw tomorrow.  She might have changed her mind and knows that he was being given the cereal, but if not, it makes me question whether or not I want my own son there.  If the DCP isn't respecting my friend's wishes, it makes me wonder what she is doing with my son that I don't want her to do.

Do you think I'm overreacting?  WWYD?

Re: Do I need (another) new DCP?

  • When i was 16, i worked at a shady in home DCP. At the time it didnt matter to me, because i was 16 and just wanted to play with the babies. But the director would pour out the mothers breastmilk and give the baby formula. When my co worker asked why she did this, she said it wasnt fair to the other children that they had to get formula if this baby was getting the better milk. So yes, bad stuff does happen and id defiantly ask your friend if she approved the cheerios. I dont think your over-reacting. If she approved, then yes. But if she didn't, id deff look into another center, one that you can pop into at any time.

Omg, that makes my stomach turn.  I would have to physically harm a DCP if I found out they had been doing this.  What an awful, horrible person!

  • My jaw still is on the floor Sarah! Holy effing shitballs.

And yes. I would find new daycare first, and then tell your friend what you saw.
