random: babble.com

Somehow I ended up with not one, but two totally separate email addresses that I use on babble's mailing list. They don't have an unsubscribe link on their blog newsletter, and replying to their emails does nothing. I searched the website and still couldn't find an email or a link to unsubscribe with. I even posted on their Facebook wall, asking for a contact so I could unsubscribe, but they just deleted my post. Asshats.

It's actually not a bad site - but I don't want their newsletter without requesting it, and now I'm pissed off that they're blatantly ignoring my requests to unsubscribe. Has anyone else gotten these and managed to get off their mailing list? I know I can block their emails, I just don't feel like I should HAVE to, you know? Mostly I think I just wanted to vent a bit here lol.

  • By law, they should include in every email they send a way to unsubscribe. Maybe you can report them =P if you find out how, I will too, heh

  • Sweet! I didn't know this counted as spam. I'm totally filing a complaint. It's ridiculous (and it REALLY pissed me off that they deleted both my original post and a follow up post to their FB wall - I was very polite and just asked to be contacted with a way to unsubscribe).

To me this is what makes it even worse...somehow they got your email address, well that happens.  but then to completely ignore your requests to unsubscribe and to delete your posts so others don't see it, well (to me) that is complaint worthy!

This! No option to opt-out is definitely illegal. Hope they'll get their act together soon!

  • I finally went through their website and emailed every.single.address that I could find (from the CEO to the marketing person) telling them I wanted off their mailing list. I received a polite response telling me that they "have someone looking into the issue." Whatever. They better take me off the damn list ASAP. I might reply with a pointed comment about how it's illegal not to offer a way to opt-out...
