Slow HCG...Low Progesterone!!

Hi all,

My DH and I just found out on Wednesday that we are pregnant....My lmp was 3/13/2011.  I had a very faint positive on a HPT and the I went in and had blood work which showed a HCG level of 13.1 that day, 2 days later Friday the HCG level was 18.9, and pregesterone level only 7.88, I am worried but the doctors seem ok wit that telling me its still very early....any thoughts? At one end the HCG did go up, but the progesterone is low. They said they will re-draw me on Monday...thus far I have only little cramps and a bit of tender breasts, no spotting or bleeding...

    I would not worry too much at this point.  Monday's re-draw will give you the most answers.  I know this isn't what you want to hear, but it's the truth!

    Do you have an idea of how far along you are?

    I calculate it to be about 2 weeks, but  according to my LMP the doctors office says I am 3 weeks 4 days. Ill just keep praying, but my DH is soo happy.....I hope this continues on with no problems..

    Did your doctor put you on progesterone? Since I had a previous loss my OB put me on progesteron immediately when I found out I was pregnant. When my bloodwork came back it showed I was fine without it (19.5) so I could stop taking it but he said just to play it safe I should keep taking it until 10 weeks. Definitely ask him about it because everything could be fine with baby but your body not producing enough progesterone could cause an issue.

    I agree about the progesterone- I would call them right away if they are open now.  It can't hurt to ask!

    No they are closed now, but I did send them a secure email, they have email options for patients. Hopefully they get back to me asap....I wonder why they didnt offer that option..... Lets see what happens Monday...I will def ask if it is still that low. FINGERS CROSSED!!

    My guess it that they didn't offer it because you are so early.  Many women don't even find out they are pregnant until the are 4 weeks or so.

    That is true, maybe that is why my levels are so low?? ( im trying here)
