government shutdown wackiness

I know there are other federal staff and federal contractors on this board and I just have to say that the government workplace is a wacky one this week....and the wackiness is clearly starting to have a not-so-positive effect on people.

    Ditto that. DH is a contractor and said he won't find out until Monday if he's considered "essential" or not.

     This.  DH woke me up yesterday morning by saying "you're still fully employed" (I had a horrible headache and went to bed at 9pm on Friday night) and all I could think was "damn, i was going to FINALLY get the house clean on Monday..."  LOL
