poo poo @bathtime

DD has poo'd 4x in the tub  now!  1st time was horrifying.  Now I watch her squatting and I'm thinking "Oh please no".  She doesn't do it every time, but I wondered if anyone has suggestions so this doesn't happen again.  She never used to poo in the evening!

Re: poo poo @bathtime

  • No suggestions unfortunately. ?Just wanted to say that we made it over two years without any poo in the tub and now she's done it probably four or five times. ?The hubs has gotten really good at spotting the poo and pulling the kid out! ?Ewwww!

  • I don't have any suggestions either but this just happened to us for the first time a couple days ago. I let her play a little longer in the tub. I guess it was a little too long.
  • This has probably happened to us about 6-7 times.  I used to stay very calm, scoop her out quickly, drain it, then do the full on disinfecting once she was in bed.

One time, I reacted in a horrified way and scooped her out so quickly it scared her.  Now, she looks scared if she has to poop and stands up and says "diaper" or "poo poo" so I can grab her.  One time I wasn't so lukcy but at least she was on the way out.

I guess my suggestion is to help them understand that you want them out first.  Now, if she is in there a long time or gets a "look" I say "No poo poo in the ub.  Let Mommy know if you have to go poo poo." And that has worked.  My girl is a bit older but I think communicating from early on is the best.  They understand much more than you realize.

  • Thanks...that's good advice.  I'll have to watch for a "look" so I can pull her out before the poo.
