I need help picking some eco-friendly bento boxes, sacks, reusuable sacks, whatever for my sons lunches. It seems that the Lunchbots have a paint peeling problem and that is the one I was seriously considering.
I also need some advice on what to put in there. I have organic milk, fruits of all kinds of course and some salty munchies that I know he likes- but ideas for hot foods?
I have a Foogo Food jar so I can keep some things hot. TIA
Re: Lunchboxes & what to put in it??????????/
I pack DD's lunch 90% of the time for daycare (we are diligent about what we eat, and we are also vegetarian).
I have a BPA-free pink plastic sectioned lunchbox for her for foods that do not need heated, i.e. PB&J, veggie tofurky sandwiches, crackers, raisins, baby carrots, nuts, berries, etc. For lunches that will need to be heated, I send a glass container with a lid. Often, I will send leftovers from the previous night, or maybe vegetarian chicken nuggets, green beans, peas, macaroni and cheese, etc.

Don't buy Lunchopolis. I bought them at the start of the school year and it has not held up well at all and this is after a replacement. UGH!
I make my ds a pasta dish w/ tomatoes, spinach, shredded carrots and a litte cheese, assorted salad...potato salad, pasta salad. Turkey with cheese and crackers.
Laptop lunch 2.0 bento boxes are good- they are BPA free plastic, made in USA, and have lids. You can put them in the lunch box that I am linking below, or just buy the whole kit and use the lunch box that comes with it.
I also love these lunch boxes: https://www.reuseit.com/store/reuseit-made-insulated-pack-lunch-medium-p-1927.html because they are soft sided,e on clearance for $5-6 on that website. zippered, insulated, big enough to carry enough food for the day, made in USA, and can throw them in the washing machine. They have held up great for me and DH. They also make smaller foldover style ones. There is even a baby pink colored on clearance.
Our Whole Foods also carries a stainless steel lunch box that is round and stackable. Made in India, it is awesome. The thing I don't like is that it isn't insulated, but if you have a refrigerator where you are taking it, it is so good!
