Hello all! I have a beautiful 4 month old baby girl....we've been using disposables, but I'm thinking about making the switch to cloth. Problem is: I have NO idea about the lingo, different kinds of diapers, etc. I'm a little intimidated and not sure where to start. Any advice? Can anyone give me a little CD tutorial or point me to a website that I can check out? My plan would be to wash at home (we have an HE washer, not sure if that makes a difference).
Thanks in advance for any help you can give me!
Re: Thinking about cloth diapering.....need help please!
You can find the FAQs link at the top of this board; that would be a great place to start. Look around, get familiar with the terms and general idea of cloth.
And then make sure to come back here and ask any more specific questions you may have
Ditto the above- the FAQs have tons of answers to common questions and links to many sites with helpful info and photos. And I'll second the youtube suggestion- that really helped me to see exactly what each type of diaper was made up of and how to use it. Showing these videos to DH also helped him get on board and helped us decide what types we wanted to try out.
Welcome and feel free to ask anything!
I like the diaperpin.com website, they have a lot of reviews and also they post sales from different merchants so you always know where you can get a good deal! diaperjunction.com is a really good place to start too b/c they have reviews on all of their products written by customers. You can also earn diaper cash, I think 250 points= $10 goes all the way up to $100.
What helped me the most was my local cloth diaper shop, the lady who owns it is very knowledgable and she showed me how to use everything. I just buy most of my fluff online b/c thats where I get the best deal.
