Hi Ladies
So I've been on domperidone for about a month now. Initially I got the compounded meds at Stonegate pharmacy to tide me over until my order from inhousepharmacy came in. I ordered the brand name of the Domperidone and it comes in a blister package and was manufactured in New Zealand so I feel like it is trustworthy
I have to say that I believe Dom is the main reason I've still been able to have enough breast milk for the past month. The other things I've been doing:
-mini "power pump" as often as possible-I pump for 10-15 mins or until the milk stops dripping, wait 10 minutes and then pump again-this usually gives me another let down (though it's sometime takes up to 5 minutes of pumping that second time) and another 1-1.5 ounces most times
-I've just started pumping after each time she eats, which I was being lazy about before. Sometimes I only get an ounce, max 2 ounces but I figure if I add a days worth of post-feed pumped milk, it makes at least one more feed.
Oh, I haven't noticed any side effects from the Dom for me or little girl.
Re: Domperidone update
I'm glad to hear it is working for you too. CollieJade, thank you again for the email about your experience with Domperidone. I apologize for not responding - I've become really bad at responding to email now that I'm back at work!
Amy
Amy, did you start taking it? Is it working for you?
CollieJade, did you have problems on it?
I'm taking it now- same situation. Pumping for 10-15 minutes at a time with 2 oz. at the most. I pump 3-4 times per day as I run out pretty quickly and it seems to take a while to build back up. I'm not thinking it is going to get any better.
No side effects from the drug, however.
