What to do for ds's coughing

Ds#1 has signs of having allergies. Almost constant runny nose that he wipes upward, dry cough that does not sound like a sick cough, sneezing and watery eyes. I've tried zyrtec and claritan and neither seem to do much for him. I just picked up allegra and will try that tomorrow. He has a consultation with an allergist but not till the 19th. His coughing is pretty constant right now. If the allegra doesn't do much is there anything else I can do to make him more comfortable till he sees the allergy dr? You can tell it bothers him after coughing most of the day.

Re: What to do for ds's coughing

  • Go to  your pedi. He may need a nebulizer. Spring is pretty bad for my DS too. We usually have to do Claritan 2xday and the nebulizer at least twice a day, and eye drops. Oh  the joys of Spring.

  • Honey is good for coughs, and I've heard using local honey can help with allergies.
