Would you save everything for baby#3?

I saved everything from DS#1 knowing we would have another baby. But now that DS#2 is using everything again. Should I save it all over again? What would you save for baby #3?

Re: Would you save everything for baby#3?

  • I plan to save everything, but we are planning to try for #3 in about 2 years or so. I also am lucky enough to have plenty of storage space. If I didn't I don't know if I'd save everything!

  • I'm saving most things for Baby # 3. Why not, right?

  • We held on to everything from the boys, and then ended up having two girls... but #5 is a boy so I'm happy we kept it!

  • I'm planning to save most everything. Definitely going to go through a lot of the clothes and downsize there. Maybe some of the toys too as DS2 outgrows them.

  • I plan to save everything, even though #3 is still a "might." I would kick myself if a year or two after getting rid of swing/bouncer/toys/strollers we needed it again. I'm going to hold on to everything until we are SURE one way or the other.

This is how I feel too, though my DH wants to get rid of things as C outgrows them. He says we'll just get new stuff if we have a #3. I think that's silly so I plan on storing what I can in DD1's closet. It's huge and DH never goes in there.

  • I'm reusing everything again for #3.  My stuff isn't that old (just over two years at this point) and to be honest my kids grew-up quickly so things are only gently used.  They were both out of the infant carseat by 6 months...both walked by 9 months so the walker looks brand new too:)

  • We're saving everything we like. Worst case scenario is that we choose to replace the hand-me-downs when #3 one day arrives. At least we'll have the option of reusing things.

  • We're saving some stuff. We're not sure if there will be a #3 or not, so we have given away some clothes already (just not everything). We have a boy/girl, so we've kept a lot of the gender neutral stuff. We'll keep all the big toys until we make a definite decision one way or the other.

  • After DS2, we saved most of the clothes, the ones that were still in good shape and had no stains, knowing that we wanted to have a third in a few years.  We got rid of most of our baby things, including high chair, strollers, exersaucer, swing, bounc seat!  One month after getting rid of everything at our yard sale, I got a VERY suprise BFP!  I told my husband we jinxed ourselves!  Needless to say, we still have all of our baby stuff now!

  • We're saving all the big items and most of the clothes. We don't plan to have #3 for another 4-5 years, but there's no reason to get rid of it.

  • We're hoping to have 3u3 (or very close to it), so we're planning to keep everything.

  • We aren't having a third, but I would be saving it if we were - I've already spent the money once, no need to spend it again!!

  • I'm still undecided about #3 (although DH is ready to TTC!!).  I'm torn about getting rid of things.  Stuff that's easy to pack away (like the activity mat) and doesn't take up a lot of room is a no-brainer.  And since we have really nice strollers, I figure we'd keep those.  And we'll keep the cribs because they are expensive to replace.  But I'm torn about the infant car seat and the snap n' go frame.  It seems silly to me to get rid of stuff unless we're positive we're done - but I hate clutter and we don't have a lot of storage space.

  • We borrowed some stuff from my sister and since it was used from her kids too, it was pretty worn by us as well. She sold the bouncy and swing recently. We will get new ones (or buy gently used) when we have #3. As for clothing I save almost everything. I recently got rid of ome hadn me downs that we never used or I hated, but saved most stuff. We have a small house, but a big attic.

We plan on 4 or 5 kids, so if we used it all from number 1 it would be falling apart by number 5. Plus I like to get new stuff for each kid....even just a few things.
