Olivia hasn't yet outgrown her infant seat, but I want to start researching the next step. Hopefully if I know what I'm looking for, I can catch some good sales.
So, what comes after the infant seat?
And if it applies ... does anyone really use their infant seats to capacity? Cause ours is a Chicco Keyfit 30 and I cannot imagine her in that thing 30" or 30 pounds. She's practically hanging out of it at 16 pounds!
Re: Carseat: What's next?
rear-facing convertible car seat comes next.
DD outgrew her infant seat height wise waaaaay before she ever would have come close weight wise.
Ditto (and we also have the Chicco Keyfit). DD stayed in her infant seat until she reached the height limit around 12 months.
I am still using the infant carrier but ours is the Graco 35 so I have till 35 inches or 35lbs. I very rarely carry it around anymore because it's just to heavy. I'm resisting getting one till I absolutely have to because 1) I love the print on the infant carrier and 2) I'm cheap and I don't want to pay for a convertible yet. I's come in handy a few times when DS sleeps in it while I'm at the grocery store because he won't sleep in the cart. DH uses a RF convertible seat and I keep the infant in my car full time.
I can't imagine having him in it when he's 35lbs. We figured we'd need the height room WAY before the weight.
Whoah! Yah, that would be funny to see. And part of what made me realize was Joyco's recent blog update about her TWO YEAR OLD BOYS not weighing 30 pounds yet. I was like, "Oooh okay." I can see her height outgrowing it first obviously. However, it looks like I have some time before we have to switch. I like JayandJack's idea about having a convertable in one car while still using the infant. That will at least space out the cost, since I'd like to have at least 2. One full time for my car, and 1 that can go between my mother's and DH's. That way I'm not moving a car seat daily.
Thanks y'all!
