Adoption

Celebrity Adoption

Mariska Hargitay adopted a baby (from the US).  She says she is excited to welcome another baby in this way and their family is now multi-racial.  I've always enjoyed her as an actress and it is so cool when celebrities adopt bring awareness to what a wonderful thing it is.

Re: Celebrity Adoption

  • I've always liked her too. How exciting and hopefully she'll be a positive role model for domestic adoption

I hope this isn't taken the wrong way, but I'm kind of glad when I hear of celebrities adopting domestically (Sandra Bullock, Mariska Hargitay, etc). Not becaus I have anything against IA but it shows the people that DA is still a viable choice. Maybe someday someone will say, "Oh, you adopted like Mariska Hargitay?" Instead of Angelina lol.

I think Mariska would have to adopt a few more children (read: about 10) before that becomes the case!

  • Fredalina, I had the same thought.  IA is amazing, but it makes me VERY happy when DA gets some good press!

    She's so beautiful!

(Except I have to say I hate to see Josephine being used more often. It's been my girl name my whole life! [Twas my grandmother's name.])

    Couldn't agree more!

  • I was so happy to hear that she adopted. She has always been one of my favorites and it's nice to hear that she did a domestic adoption, which is what we want to do.
