This morning sickness isn't for wimps! Yesterday, I remembered that I should eat crackers in the morning before I got up. Which might have worked if I hadn't woken up horribly nauseated. Did some research and found lemons. I have lemons. Finally dragged myself out of bed, sliced up a lemon and...hurray! I feel less like
@$$! What else have have you tried for morning sickness?
Re: Hope on the Horizon!
You mean all day sickness?
Tea helped me (especially mint), of course ginger everything, carbs always were good to settle the stomach and just staying away from eating or smelling items that were triggers for me.
While you're in it, morning sickness seems the WORST...I promise it will pass eventually and a year from now your memory will fade to the point that you won't think it was bad at all.

Lemon starburts helped me. Basically anything SOUR. I didn't like sour patch kids b/c they got sweet, and all I wanted was sour. I found Sour Mamba's and those were pretty divine.
I also wore sea bands (you can get them at Rite-Aid or Walgreens) a ton.
I am so sorry you are having to deal with ms. For me it was all day long, even when I was laying in bed. I lost about 12 pounds by 14 weeks. After that it seemed to be the turning point for me.
I tried the preggo pops, which I personally thought were disgusting. I also tried mint gum but that didn't seem to help much either. I typically tried to drink a ton of water and sometimes that didn't even stay down. One or two grahm crackers a day for me was about all I ate for a few weeks. Lucky for me, I had some weight to lose anyhow so they baby was able to get everything she needed.
Good Luck
Wish I could be more help. I was one of the unlucky few that had morning sickness the whole pregnancy. I noticed that some things worked for a while and then wouldn't work anymore. It was sort of a trial and error process. The dr told me to try a combo of B6 and Unisom. When that didn't work, I eventually had to try a few different types of prescription meds to be able to survive and even those weren't magic.
Ginger helps some women. I noticed that dairy after a few months was no longer my friend and made me sick. Bread helped me a bit. Be careful with spicy food. I made sure to get out of the bed slowly to help start my day too. Have you tried eating smaller meals throughout the day? That helped me sometimes. Good luck!
Hopefully it will be over soon-but I know that while you are experiencing morning sickness, it feels like it will never go away.
Nothing totally helped me but a few things made life a little more manageable:
- sipping ice cold water
- eating ice cold oranges (I kept them in the crisper)
- baked potatoes
- buttered toast with salted sliced cold tomatos on top
I think what works is different for everyone and what works one day may make you puke the next day I hope it goes away soon! And congratulations!!
Crystalized ginger was the only rememdy that consistently made me feel a little better, as well as ginger tea. Sometimes saltines, plain buttered toast, or mint tea would help.
I did have to get an anti-nausea prescription though, because I was puking all.the.time for the first 4 months and it interfered with my work, and I got dehydrated.
Congratulations though & I hope that you feel better soon!
Mine is just creeping in today. Real lemonade (the pulpy really tart stuff), Simply is great, their limeade is also pretty amazing. Sour dough toast with lots of butter was a staple. If I was out running errands, I would stop at a gas station for an Icee- some even have sour flavors. For me, I just have to eat, even if I'm gagging it down, within a few minutes I'd feel a little better and be able to really figure out something to eat.
Stef- how have I never seen sour Mambas?! Those are my all time favorite candy!
Of all of these, everything but the Sour Mambas went into the trash and I went back to that shell station the next day for a few more packs of the mambas. I have several still left in my desk drawer b/c I got tired of them once the sickness went away. But I hiiiighly recommend them if the sucking sour candy helps ease the sickies!
