What gets your LO moving?

I am someone who MUST hit snooze on the alarm at least once every morning, I have been doing this for as long as I can remember.  Well, for the past week the alarm has also been waking my LO up.  This morning it must have scared the crap out of him because he was honestly rolling around in my tummy.  I even felt a limb for the first time.  It was so amazing!!  So this got me thinking, what else will get him moving like that and what gets everyone else's LO's moving?

  • doublemint gum... pb & j.... I poked my stomach the other day and she jumped.. hahahaha. That was soo cute. I felt bad. She gets mad when I roll over in bed - she hits and kicks up a storm. I've just recently in the past week felt hiccups for the first time, felt her jump, felt her stretch and felt limbs. It's so amazing.

  • Holding our youngest son, Spencer. If I ever feel like I haven't felt her move in a while, I just hold him close to my stomach and she goes crazy every time! She also gets very active when our oldest lays his head on my stomach and talks to her. He has wanted a sister since I was pg with Spencer, so he is EXCITED! He has been talking to her daily since we found out she is a she!

  • DS! This LO already LOVES it's big brother! It's the cutest thing ever. DS likes to talk to the baby, he tells it that he's big brother Aidan and then will go on and tell it all sorts of things. Talk about his trains, or how he's going to show the baby to be a big boy or girl. Well whenever DS gets going and talking to my belly, LO starts rolling around and moving like crazy! LO really reacts to his voice! It's really so sweet. It melts my heart.

  • When DH reads to him at night.... DH is a big fiction reader. He is currently reading to LO at night R.A. Salvatore's Saga of the First King - The Ancient. It is a nice bonding time between us becasue I get sort of a 'bed time' story and LO really enjoys hearing DH's voice. He kicks very hard and get excited. DH sometimes has to stop because he is kicking so hard. LOL

  • Apple juice, gummi bears, just me sitting on the couch relaxing! I love feeling him moving all over, even if his little kicks have made me very sore recently!

  • Usually anything sweet will get him moving.  I've been trying to limit my sweets the entire pregnancy but a couple of days ago I had to have a chocolate shake from McDonald's and LO loved it.
  •  Caffeine free Diet Coke and sitting up straight. Rolling over in bed. She does not like me laying on my left side... LOL

  • Real Sugar. Apparently my baby can tell the difference between diet stuff and high fructose corn syrup and real honest to goodness sugar. The only thing that gets this baby moving for 100% is fruit. (I haven't had real sugar by itself in ages.. I need to get a Mexican Coke or Sprite since they have cane sugar). Anytime I eat 'sugar' it's always in baked goods or with something fattening which slows down the absorption and therefore she doesn't get the jolt she gets from fruit.

  • Granola bars definitely get her moving. It has less sugar than cookies and she moves more for the granola bars than any other sugar. Even the glucose drink, she was just laid back.

Also, when I poke her, she will poke back :)

  • The alarm, the dogs barking, and Outkast!  She either loves Outkast, or hates it - either way she starts moving up a storm in there!
  • Drinking cold water or lying one of my side and not moving for a few minutes. Pressing up against something like a pillow usually does the trick as well.

  • She loves her lullaby cd which I play every night for her. I can always tell what song it is by her movement. She likes certain songs better than others and I can always tell when the cd is about to end because she really starts moving on the last song...

Actually she loves music in general, whenever we are in the car listening to music she like to boogie!

  • I felt her jump a little bit when I started the blender to make a smoothie this morning. Hee! So cute!

  • LO's favorite food is hummus.  Any flavor of hummus gets LO moving all over.  Hummus is one of DH's favorite foods. :)

Yesterday I was out with my BFF and she locked her car and the horn honked.  LO jumped/kicked at the sound of the horn in the parking structure.

  • When I lay down flat on my back... Works everytime... also junk food Indifferent
  • Rolling over in bed seems to really irk LO. Sometimes I like to lay on my side but leaning against my body pillow - LO doesn't seem to be a fan of that, either (hopefully I'm not smashing them?).  Ice cream/milkshakes seem to make LO happy, too. I love ice cream but have really craved it since getting pregnant & LO seems to dance up a storm when I eat it Smile

  • I've yet to identify any specific food or drink that gets my LO moving. It's hard because he moves SO much that it doesn't really seem to be as a result of anything specific.  The only exception is that one of our dogs started howling the other day because he heard sirens in the distance and LO made a huge sudden movement at a time that he was actually being still.
