Infertility

Perhaps this isn't the place to ask this?

I was wondering if anyone knew anything about surrogacy? I'm 19, so I won't actually be doing it for a couple more years, but I know I can have and carry children, and I want so badly to help. Before the birth of our first, I was scared I might never be able to become pregnant, and I just want to give something amazing to a couple who deserves to hold the world in their arms like I do with my son and will when my little girl comes...

I will be using an agency when I do finally sign up for everything (most places would like you to be at least 21, and that's perfectly understandable), so I suppose I'm not really asking how you go about it, but more how it has been. If anyone has looked into it, or are actively taking part in it (whether you be the surrogant or the intended parents). I want to know what to expect, and if it is even a proper way to go about helping a couple who just can't carry...

Once again, perhaps this isn't the place to ask...but hoenstly, I haven't found a lot of places where you can directly go to a surrogacy forum so you can speak to other surrogant mothers or intended parents. Forgive me if I offended anyone as well, I understand this can be a touchy topic.

  • I have no advice, but want to thank you for considering becoming a surrogate.

  • There is a girl on the board who has been an ED.  I know it's not the same thing, but perhaps she has more advice for you.  Her name is Kells926.  She wrote something about it yesterday.  (I'm a big lurker)  Here is a link to the post, you have to read it all to find it:
