wouldnt you know it

the first real hit I have had on a job since the last interviews 3 weeks ago. It is a seasonal job (now -oct) but the schedule is TH-T

I really, really need a job but do I miss out on all family all summer long? my husband works long days and we would never see weach other. this was the problem I had at the car dealership with my PT job and I was miserable

Re: wouldnt you know it

  • Ugh, that is so tough!  I guess what you have to ask yourself is if you don't get a job, would you be able to enjoy summer or would you be too stressed out?

Is the job and employment valuable enough to give up your time with your family?

Can you take this job and keep looking?  What are you looking for again?

  • It sounds like, as of now, this is the best option you've got?  If you're offered the job, take it, and keep looking for other employment.  That's what I would do.

That's what I was thinking.  If it's critical for you to have an income, take this.  Then keep looking and quit when you find a new job.  There's nothing that requires you to stay on all summer.

    I agree with this.

  • I agree about taking the position but continuing to look for another. It may not be an ideal situation, but it is something.

THIS! And you definitely don't want to have to sell your car - that car is amazing!  Good luck :)

  • I'm so sorry this has been so rough for you. I too would take the job and keep looking. I wish I had an open position for you, I know you would be perfect! When the time comes, I will think of you first! Have you tried the hospital? They are opening the new tower in June and maybe hiring to staff it? My mom works there...I can have her send me the internal job postings and forward to you if you'd like. lemme know!

  • I really hate to see you have to sell your car, Dawn :(:(  I'd take it too and keep looking.  That's such a bummer :(
