I just started Bromocriptime today to bring down my prolactin levels and hopefully start ovulating!!! Has anyone taken this? What side effects did you get and how long did it take to regulate your prolactin? (Mine has been ranging between 35-40).
Thanks!!!
Re: Bromocriptime side effects

I started taking Bromocriptine in November and felt quite ill for the first week or so. Very dizzy and sick to my stomach in fact I took a couple of days of work. My dosage was increased every 3 days for the first 9 days. I went for repeat b/w after being on it for 1 month and my levels were within the normal range. I was told by my RE that I will have to keep taking it until I get pregnant and then will be reduced off of it again and then I will have my levels tested again when we want to try for another pregnancy. Apparently elevated levels are fine unless you are TTCing.
HTH.
I worked my way up to the full dosage. I was fine until I started the full amount...the first week was bad! I was extremely tired and my stomach bothered me. It slowly got better and after a while I couldn't feel anything at all! My levels were at 60 when I started.
Good luck!

I only had the nose stuffiness. I took it before bed and tried to fall asleep about 30 minutes after the pill. I didn't have any other side effects. I believe my dr had me take it vaginally for the first couple of days and then switch over to oral.
ETA: oh yea-and it only took a month for my levels to be in "normal range".
