Sparky needs a real name

Now that we know we are having a boy, and can't use the beautiful girl's name we picked out, DH and I have a long list of boy names to narrow down (these are just the front-runners). His middle name will be Tiberius, after DH's grandfather, and our last name sounds like it ends in -ogan (but it doesn't). DH is Romanian and I identify heavily with my French heritage. Please help us pick a first name:

Ah, shoot. I voted for Sebastian only to see Augustin a second too late. I love the nickname Auggie, too. Though I do love Sebastian, don't get me wrong.

I'm also a big fan of Julian, but the nickname JT makes me think of Justin Timberlake (lame).

Are you SURE you're picking Tiberius just because it's a family name and not because of Captain Kirk?. *wink* I love that name and think it's awesome that you are using it to honor family!

I picked Sebastian as my favorite. It is my cousin's name and I love his NN Seb.

I also like Nicolai, Andrei and Phillipe. All great choices!

Soooo many nice names to choose from! Love Nicolai and nn Nico. Love Phillipe/Phillipe (but this is a family surname for me, so I am partial!). Love Sebastian - a great name if you want to avoid nn's, period. And love Augustin, but tend to prefer the nn Gus.

Bubba, James is a family name too, so I technically could have gone with James Tiberius, but DH prefers Babylon 5, so he said no. Had be been a Trekkie, this would have been an easy choice.

I wish I hated some of these names because it would make it easier to pick, but I don't. I love them all. However, I refuse to have enough children to use every one of them!

Great list! Probably the best list I've seen this year, if I'm remembering correctly. You'll notice the "Hate" section is completely blank. That is rare. haha.

Can I make a suggestion? My all-time favorite masculine Romanian name is Florin. Granted, it doesn't go that great with the last part of your last name, but I thought I'd suggest it anyway. Big Smile

PS: I didn't realize you called your bump Sparky/Sparticus. When I saw your siggy badge earlier this morning/afternoon, I just thought you were trying to be clever. I was soo close to making a badge that says, "No, MY baby's name is Sparticus!" (Hopefully you get the joke, or else I just look selfish.)

Awww, you are making me blush. I take that as a high compliment from you.

I like Florin too, but DH thinks it sounds too feminine in an English speaking country. That's the same reason he nixed Marcel from my original list.

I voted for Nicolai nn Nico, I love it! I also LOVE Julian, but I hate JT, if it were just Julian with no nn I may have picked that over Nicolai.

Good choices! I voted Nicolai because I love it and I can't use it, but we also have Nathan on our short list, so that's a top contender. I don't think there are any that I dislike from your choices though.
