Weird medical question

On Saturday, I noticed that my mouth had a weird sensation, like I had burnt the roof of my mouth (but I haven't.) in the past few days, that hasn't gone away, but now my tongue also feels burnt, some o the taste buds look bigger than usual and bled a little when I brushed my tongue, and there is a little bit of a crack in the center of my tongue.

WTF?

When I googled, it keeps trying to suggest thrush, except I don't have white spots. Any other ideas?

Maybe dehydration? My mom had the crack thingy but I can't remember what the dr said that was an indication of. I know my mouth gets like that sometimes when I've had too much salt.

allergies? Hmm.  Well my upper palate feels "burnt" and sensitive when I have a bad allergy attack (thank you oak pollen).  But Annabelle and I both had thrush while BFing, and she never had the white spots. I dunno.  Hope you figure it out!

Is it a canker sore?

DH and I get these in our mouth.  Rinsing your mouth - or even dab the spot with a q-tip - of hydrogen peroxide seems to help it heal faster.  DH gets them on the inside of his lip but I get them on the side of my tongue.

Have you changed toothpaste or eaten something different lately?  Sometimes my mouth gets the burnt feeling if I've eaten certain things.

ETA:  I don't know if that was clear.  I was just saying maybe your toothpaste or food has irritated it.

Thanks guys. Definitely not a canker sore and I haven't eaten anything weird. I went ahead and took a diflucan I had stashed away in case it's thrush. Im thinking it's dehydration/too much salt. I had a friend over tonight who is a dentist and he had the same thoughts about allergies, but I just don't know what I would have eaten. Humph.
