Re: ~~~Weekly PG Check-In~~~

  • Thanks!  Please add me to the list--EDD November 14.

Congrats to tcook23 and MrsNole as well.  Continued thoughts and prayers for bride.

QOTW:  Well, we haven't really started preparing for this little one at all. We'll re-use as much as we can from DD, so I feel like we're already ahead of the game.  :)

Update:   I'm definitely feeling the morning sickness more this time around.  Luckily, I can keep food down (because I would not want to have to deal with that issue at work), but the nausea is strong and I feel it all day long.  Plus, I am so tired.  I really didn't think I was going to make it yesterday!  I did tell my boss this week because I knew that I was going to be needing time off for appointments and stuff--talk about an awkward conversation.  Yikes!  That's about all.  Just anxious for the next appointment, to make sure things are still OK.  There are some other issues, but I'm still too embarrassed to talk about those, maybe in the next check-in.

  • please move back further down the list. being in the top 3 = freaking out Smile

QOTW: Everything! Hubby actually finally got first coat of paint up on the wall and should hopefully finish coat 2 today/tomorrow so I can spend this weekend hopefully getting his room setup/washing clothes/etc. there are still a few essentials I need to go buy but I think we have most everything we'll need.Oh and I have a few books I'd really like to actually finish reading before he arrives but I've been too lazy to read lately! Smile

Update: Doing good other than the freaking out thing. I've cried a few times this week out of sheer frustration/panic over all the things I feel like I need to do before he arrives (i realize 90% of the list doesn't HAVE to be done at all but I totally feel like i need to!)... including preparing at work which I'm still not feeling remotely close to ready to be able to walk away from but getting there.

  • QOTW: Um, I've done nothing, nada, zip.  We are talking about moving ds in July so getting his room ready will be the next step.  If we have another boy I don't really think I need to do much of anything, since we'll have all the stuff we need.  If its a girl I'll need girl clothes and some pink sheets, but that is about it.

Update:  Just chugging along, no real news.  Have an appointment on Friday and our big ultrasound in a few weeks.

  • Please add me to the list

    chargermama - EDD - 9/20 - preliminary u/s shows girl

QOTW: not a dnag thing.  We had given away all of our baby gear becuae we thought we were done after 2 - so it is like starting from scratch all over again.  I think we are still in denial that we have to get the stuff again....

Update: m/s is still going strong - without zofran I am a freaking mess.  I don't really look pregnant yet I just look chunky - sigh...  Should have the results form my FISH test today or tomorrow and the final results from the amnio next week.  Have an appt with my OB this Friday.

  • I feel like I have a lot left to do.  We're not doing a nursery, so that lessens the stress a little bit, but we are nowhere close to having a list of names, and we need to make space in our room for the pack n play and the baby gear.

Feeling pretty good, but definitely slowing down.  DH and I go for walks and I have to continuously tell him to slow down, cause he walks so fast!  I have been having bad heartburn but am trying to modify my diet to avoid taking Prilosec.  So far eating in very small doses at frequent times and not eating late at night is helping, as is sucking on papaya extract pills.

  • We are having a girl!

We have all our nursery furniture set up and we picked white, which is perfect for a little girl. I bought the valances that match our nursery set and put them up and painted this shelf we had light purple, it turned out very cute!  Now I'm just waiting for my shower to see what I get then buy the rest of what I need! I feel ready, I just want time to speed up because I'm not working right now and getting anxious!!

qotw: we are reusing alot of stuff, so i think we are doing okay. i'm stressing about deciding on our health insurance. we are trying to avoid paying $1200 for cobra once the baby is born. eeeekkkk!!

update: i am getting over some bad back issues with physical therapy. i had to carry taylor up and down stairs for about 6 weeks and i thought i was going to drop her!!  (she broke her leg, was in a cast, then once it was off couldn't climb stairs in our house) i was really worried i was going to be one of the unlucky moms on bedrest soon. all is going a lot better. yaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyy!

  • Continued T&P to Bride

Congrats to tcook and duckie, and yay for little girls MrsNole!

QOTW: We painted the nursery, bought a crib & mattress...and that's about it I think.  I'm sure there is a little more but I'm blanking on it.  We have a lot to do still!!

UPDATE: I am feeling great and still look exactly the same as I did 22 weeks ago.  That's a bummer to me. My parents are coming in on Friday and I am SO excited to see them!  lots of shopping will be done, for sure. Big Smile We have our appt and anatomy scan on Friday, I'm really looking forward to seeing baby again.  I swear I am carrying the next Mary Lou Retton or Bart Connor, baby is quite active!

Blondie, we're due date twins!  :-)

  • Bride, you have been on my mind a lot. Continued T&P to you.

Congrats to tcook, Duckie, and MrsNole!!

QOTW: I thought we were doing really well, but when I sat down to make a list of all that we have left, I kind of freaked. All decor of the new boy nursery. Washing and sorting all the boy clothes we have gotten so far. Breaking out all the newborn gear again (swing, carseat, pnp, bouncy seat, etc.). Getting new pump parts, bottles, etc. Oh, and that little detail of picking out a name. eek.

Update: My hips and tailbone have started to get really sore, so I guess everything is loosening on up! Next appt is Friday, and then only a short 2-wk wait before I start going EVERY WEEK. Holy moly.

And for your viewing pleasure, the reason I can no longer scoot all the way up to my desk at work:

    Dear Bump: You suck.
  • QOTW: we still have lots to do to get ready. although our painter did just finish painting our house literally 10 minutes ago! so yay, we can finally get our house back in order. Luckily it's mostly organizational and decorating things that we have to do, we pretty much have everything we need.

Updates: I passed my GD test but i'm anemic. So i'm trying to figure out when to squeeze in my iron pill between my prenatal vitamin, my coffee, my milk and cereal, my sandwhiches and my tums - all of which the iron says not to take it with.

    Here's my 28 week bump!

  • QOTW: i feel like we have everything left to do! the nursury doesn't exist yet, although the crib is ordered and we are picking up our glider this weekend- the plan is to figure out where everything should go. oh and i have to still order our dresser. i'm not worried about getting it all done in time though, this is pretty much how we do stuff :) i did get my registry started which was a relief.

updates: i'm starting to feel so huge! i never realized how solid a pregnant bump was! it's really hard to get up from the couch, roll over in bed and tie my shoes at the gym. i had to wear one of DH's shirts to the gym cause mine dont fit anymore and ive cut back even more on how slow i run. i now understand the whole uncomfortable thing! i am getting really excited though to meet this baby!

  • QOTW: Well, C is staying in the nursery until after baby is born since she will be in our room.  Then after several months (not sure how many yet!) we will transition C into the current guest room and move baby into the nursery.  We are keeping the nursery pretty much the same except I would like to get some girly accents and maybe some bedding.

Update: I can't believe I'm already having so much trouble sleeping!  ugh!  I have my body pillow, but I am still having a really hard time getting comfortable.  Also, I have been getting a lot of hip pain when I sleep.  I have my glucose test on Monday so I'm hoping I pass!

  • QOTW: Everything. I cleaned out the baby room closet of random stuff (my H keeps the boxes of every damned thing he buys.. empty boxes... it baffles me), but I need to vacuum and put together the furniture. My dear friends have been way generous with used stuff, so we already have quite a bit and my first shower isn't until Easter weekend. In fact a friend of mine just sent me a box of clothes yesterday, because her H was just totally convinced that at least one of their twins was a boy, until they weren't, and they just had their 3rd girl, so she had no use for them. I'm all about the free stuff!

Update: Our official anatomy scan was Monday and Sparky was jumping around, somewhat akin to a rabid monkey. We got a good look at his spine and brain again and still no sign of Spina Bifida. Dr. says that now I have a higher risk of pre-term labor, term bleeding, and/or slow fetal growth because of that high AFP hormone though, so I'll have increased monitoring after 30 weeks. Fun! She is optimistic though, that I can go through with my natural birth plan just fine. That's good, because we start our Bradley classes on Saturday. I am so excited!

ETA: I posted a name poll on the Names board today if anyone wants to venture over and vote.

  • Lots of T&P to bride this week!

QOTW: What do we have left to do to prepare? Ha ha! Try everything. We're not doing a nursery, so that's okay. But we still need a lot of essentials, especially because I didn't save anything from last time. We do have a crib, a car seat, and a food source in the form of my enormous and increasingly cumbersome boobs and all the fat I've thoughtfully stored on my a$$ especially for baby girl!

Update: Got my GD diagnosis. Was very sad for a day, then the women on this board and some friends made me feel way better. Just worrying about an induction, which I'd like to avoid.

  • QOTW:  we haven't done one thing because, uh, it would help if we knew where we were going to live (I'm due in 7 weeks...gulp).  Tongue Tied  but honestly, the baby just needs a place to sleep (we have a RNP and a PNP), some clothes (that need to be washed), some diapers (that need to be purchased), and some other stuff.  pretty easy, right?  right?  Tongue TiedTongue Tied

update:  my lower back really hurts - I learned in yoga that it helps to lay down with a pillow between my legs (I'd heard about this, just never knew what it helped), but I flip from side to side when I sleep so I'll wake up and the pillow will be MIA.  and I'd get a body pillow but then MH would be sleeping on the floor since we have a queen bed.  I can tell I'm in the "nesting" phase since I've been pretty busy organizing, painting, and whatnot preparing for this possible phantom move.  and I'm officially done traveling - woohoo!  I was OK'd through week 34 but I just can't do it anymore.  put a fork in me, I am d.o.n.e.

  • Question of the week: What do you have left to do to get ready for baby?

ummmm....everything? We have 2 packs of diapers, 1 blanket, 1 toy and 3 onesies. I'm having a garage sale later this month so that should help me clear out alot of stuff so I can condense the guest room and office down to just the office. My fingers are crossed.

Updates: How is everything going? Please share any updates you might have, including a recent bump pic

Things are still just the same....tired and when not tired, hungry. Bride has been on my mind alot lately. I looked forward to watching her milestones knowing that I was a few weeks or so right behind her. Even though I have had a sonogram it made it real for me that things can still happen-- I'm not in the clear so the paranoia came back slightly. I shared her story with a few co-workers and every.single.one of them is so quick to reassure me that everything is fine for me. Well...how the eff do they know? Why her and not me? I guess I'm still pretty angry for her. I could feel the excitment that she had and now...well phoey! To keep it on the safe side...I'll be 12 weeks on Tuesday, April 19th but won't mention anything on FB until after my next appt on April 22.

  • Congrats to tcook, ducky and t&p to bride!

QOTW: We have tons of stuff left to do! We need to register which we plan to do this week or next week, I have done most of my research so I know most of the things I am going to register for. I have all the nursery furniture picked out but we need to buy it. We don't have our bedding picked or paint color picked but we have an idea.

Update: I have to do a 24hr urine collection --- (boo!) Since my bp was slightly elevated. I have no doubt it'll be fine. I had my first stranger belly touch! A little old lady at work today asked me if "this little one will be enrolled here". (I work at a child development center). I smiled and nodded. We start our Bradley classes this weekend and I am excited about that. I would post a bump pic that I took on Saturday(19weeks) but I'm on my iPad and don't know how but if you're my FB friend you've seen it.

And last but not least, we have a name! :-). Our little girl is Annabelle Maria!

  • QOTW: pretty much everything. nothing at the house has been done. haven't bought anything for the baby, although i don't think i'll need to buy too much - i'm getting a lot of hand-me-downs from my 3 sisters and 2 sister-in-laws. all that i have done is start looking at daycares.

Update: i go in for a check-up next week and we have our anatomy scan the week after. my belly popped seemingly overnight yesterday. thank goodness my order from gap/old navy came in. i'm looking pretty dreary at work with ill-fitting clothes.

  • Hi...new here and would love to be added to the list.  I am 24 weeks and 2 days with my first baby, a boy.  His name is going to be Jackson Christopher and he is due July 26th.

What do you have left to do to get ready for baby? Um...everything! I feel so far behind but we wanted to wait till we found out what he was before we started shopping.  Well, in the 4 weeks since I found out, we just haven't had time travel from RR to South Austin to hit the baby stores.  (Anyone know when the NW Austin Babies R Us is opening back up?)  Hopefully, we will go this weekend and get our registries setup.

I think it's open again, just a bit disorganized from what someone else posted.  if I remember correctly, this was a few weeks ago so hopefully they have figured it out by now.

  • WOW! Can't believe I am the top of the list! This pregnancy has gone by so fast and I have to say it was so much better than what I had expected. I am in disbelief that she could come really at any moment. We have just about everything ready except for a few loads of baby stuff to wash.

I have been feeling great, maybe a little more tired this week. I am very anxious to meet our LO and just keep imagining how our lives are about to change. I went to my first weekly appt this week and was told I was nice and closed. =) So looks like she is nice and snug in her position and not quite ready. I look forward to her birth and hope for a positive experience=)
