Hi everyone,
I just wanted to say hello since it feels like it's been a very long time. This has been the wildest six weeks in the history of my life!
Remember how I was all literal about posting on here at first? LO was going to be born 9 days after my 35th birthday? Well, he came early!!!! Like two months early. I was in labor all day, walking around, going into work at 4 p.m. and serving (work at a bar/restaurant)...until around 7 pm. when I spent an hour trying to figure out if I should go home or to the hospital...then I felt the urge to call 911 STAT.
I was 6 cm when we got there and by the time they got me into a room I was fully and since my water had broken I had no choice but to push and push fast because each contraction was slowing the baby's heart rate to the point of nearly stopping. SO STRESSFUL! anyway he was born at 9:24 p.m. Just in time to get back to work for the late night drink special - kidding! I think I'm close enough to a Lifetime/TLC story at this point.
Anyway, Tristan is doing all right. ICU is a bit of a rollercoaster, and I've been afraid to write about him...because I've lost so much lately.
I have been terrible with thank you notes, and I just figured out now how to search for a user by screen name on here (these boards are a little confusing!). so **thank you** to those of you who sent things after the fire, whether they were thing-things, notes, or all your amazing prayers and thoughts. We have appreciated it more than words can say. A couple things came without a name included so please, please let me know if it was you/what you sent!
Hope you are all doing great and that you all have the amazing weather we have today. I will be back on the boards soon!!
Love,
Stephanie
Re: Well...I'm a parent, but still not quite 35!
Stephanie,
Congratulations! Someone posted here who follows your blog that you had Tristan early. It is unbelievable what you have gone through. Your life should be a Lifetime movie!
I have the pack n play sheets I promised way back - do you still need them? What is your new address? You can PM me - just let me know because I don't check it regularly.
Amy
Wowsers! You certainly have had an interesting few weeks, lady!
CONGRATS on the lil peanut... now that he's an outside baby, I'm sure he'll be growing like a weed very soon! Hope his NICU stay is fairly short and that he's a happy and healthy little guy!
It's amazing how preemies can be so fragile, yet so tough. My neighbor's little girl was super early as well (born the night before the baby shower!) and after such an unexpected start in life, she's perfectly fine.
Congrats! You really should have a Lifetime movie!
Give Tristan lots of loving and know he's in the best possible hands. Hopefully the NICU stay will be quick.
