Has anyone ever used a service to find a babysitter in a different city.

We will be vacationing in New Orleans this summer.  My mom and Uncle will be with us for a portion of the time.

My dad loved Jazz/Blues music and my mom wants to go to a Jazz/Blues club while we are there.  I would love to be able to go with her so we can listen to the music and toast to my dad while there.

If you have used a service before, what did you use, were you happy.

We will be staying in a Timeshare, not a hotel.

I've used sitter services in various cities.  We've used them in Hilton Head, Amelia Island, FL, and Chicago (that I remember offhand).  We've always been happy with them.  As long as it's a reputable company that does background checks on its sitters, I have no problem using a service.  They do charge ridiculous rates but I've come to expect that with a service.

No advice on particular sitter services, but check to see if the timeshare has a concierge desk and call them for recommendations.  If they don't, call a high end or family hotel and ask for their concierge desk.  They should be able to give you the name of a local reputable company.
