Update to all that drama.
We've been taking Jakob to a counselor and she told me yesterday that he's just fine. He's very smart and outgoing and is simply bursting with energy. At the first meeting, you could tell she was about to suggest adhd. But he kept surprising her with his ability to focus and concentrate and now she doesn't think so. He does have impulse control issues, nobody is denying that. And we're working on it.
His teacher seconded this. At our last conference, she said she just adored the kid. He's smart, nice to the other kids, he's so outgoing and talkative. She does not think that there's a problem, she says she has a whole class of hyper kids. And he is definitely not on her radar.
::Huge sigh of relief::
After 3 years of stressing, crying and just not knowing what to do, I finally feel like we're going to be okay. He's fine. Yes, we do have some behavior issues. But we can work on that.

The Blog
Yay! I'm so glad you guys won't have to deal with the ADHD meds merry-go-round. It was tough on my little sister.
It's also great that the counselor thinks he's basically fine.
