Cloth Diapering

Walk me through a custom

Is this how it works?

1) I order the fabric.

2) It gets shipped to me.

3) I stalk like mad to get a custom slot.

4) I send my fabric in.

5) I wait x weeks.

6) Diaper gets sent back to me.

Right?

Re: Walk me through a custom

  • Depends -- some people (like Star Baby Designs, B4, and plenty of others) have fabric on-hand that you can pick from.  For some you have to stalk for a spot; others will just take orders by email.  The timing depends on the vendor -- I've gotten some as fast as 2 weeks; others can take 6 weeks.

  • Agree with the PP most you can pick from their instock or SYOF. Some you have to stalk the custom spot others you can just contact them. Usually takes 4-6 weeks turn around.

  • Ok, so then my next question ...

Where is a good place to learn about fabrics?

I am looking at cotton interlock, and a 95% Cotton/5% Spandex Jersey. I think I have seen both made into diapers already. Is one better than the other?

  • I think both are stretchy and good just depends on what your print comes in IMO.
