Our social worker here needs your dust please...or her mom does.
Her mom lives in Chicago and has a liver disease that requires a liver donation to avoid liver failure. They have tested numerous people that have never even met her mother- many know of the situation through the family members. None of the donors have made it past the 1st level of testing thus far.
They have a potential donor right now that is at the FINAL stage of testing...she is just waiting to hear back on the results of her liver biopsy and then the mom will need a cardiac test to make sure she can withstand the surgery.
They should find out the results yesterday...but in timeframes for Northwestern Hospital that calculates to today or tomorrow- this week for sure.
Please send good vibes for my co-worker and her family!
