PETA phone number

757-622-PETA (7382) if anybody wants to call PETA and tell them that their vasectomy contest to honor Infertility Awareness Week is completely insensitive.  Grrr....I'm really mad about this.

Hi - I'm sorry to have to ask and I certianly don't want to start an issue, but I think I must be missing something.  One of women who write one of the blogs I read was also very upset about this, and I really don't understand why.  The points I understand are:

Human overpopulation is a real, fact-based problem.

Feline/canine overpopulation is also a real, fact-based problem.

There are many men who do not wish to have any/anymore children, and a vasectomy is a viable birth-control option.  Certianly, free is best - ostensibly, if you can't afford a vasectomy, you cant afford any more children.

Please, no flames. I'd really like someone to explain the points that make so many in the IF community upset.  I also struggle with fertility and am seeking treatment, but I do not find that PETA (who I'm not a big fan of anyway) is targeting us in any way shape or form.  Maybe there is more information I've missed?  Please inform me!

    Thanks!

  • It is not that they are offering the service that is fine. What is updating people is they are doing it in honor of infertility awareness week.?

I had missed that part of their bulletin.  That just seems clueless to me - in bad taste and timing.  Education is apparently what they need!
