How to remove stains?

I'm new to cding and have only done around 5 loads. I'm doing cold wash, hot wash with extra rinse, dry. I have an he front loader and am using bumgenius soap. I didn't check after the cold wash yesterday and went straight to hot and then threw them in the dryer. It wasn't until today that I realized I had about 4 with stains, which is likely every one he pooped in. Is there any hope since it's been set in? In the future what would I do differently?

Re: How to remove stains?

  • Stains happen, it's part of dealing with poop.  To remove them, the most effective thing to do is line-dry them in the sun.  Bright sunny days work best, but even a little sun (I've sunned a few really bad items indoors when I couldn't wait for the weather to warm up) will help lighten a stain.

  • Sun them!  If they are organic cotton or OBV inners put a bit of lemon juice over the stained area before you sun.  Sun them straight out of the washer when they are wet & leave them out there all day.
