For his helmet. We have to head to Seattle which is a little over an hour away from where we live. They're going to laser scan his head and then we go back in 9 days for the helmet. I'm thinking we'll decorate it with Transformers decals
Mom to six awesome kids - Levi is 12, Landen is 8, Gabrielle is 6, Lucas is 3, and Oliver and Samuel are 2 years old. Love my crew.

Re: O goes in for his head scan tomorrow...
I bet your DS will look adorable.
Not to sound stupid, but if you don't mind my asking, what is the helmet for?
I feel for you having to drive over an hour to get there. Do you have to go to the same place for you bi-weekly checkups?
We considered driving 2 hours to get the Doc band but then decided that the Starband place which is 30 min. away would be just as good. (Actually we think Starband is better for us simply because of the orthotist. She is wonderful.) But anyway, what a PITA to drive so far. It would have cost us about $50 in tolls and gas each time. That really adds up!
I think you should put his name on the helmet too.
It helps people to be friendly and address him by name when you are out and about. The starbands come decorated. I'm kind of glad because I'm not good at that sort of thing.
Good luck! I had a fair amount of anxiety over it before we did it but it's really not a big deal so far.
Good luck tomorrow!
Congrats on the helmet! It is a PITA but you won't regret it when you see the improvement. Decorating the helmet was very helpful in not seeing it as a medical device. Blingyourband gets rave reviews but here is a source if you want to decorate it yourself. I painted and decorated 2 helmets and it wasn't that hard. I also suggest getting letter stickers so you can write your LO's name, it made him more approachable. Good Luck!
