Failed 1 hour....

Just found out this afternoon that I failed my 1 hour glucose test. This really sucks!

I haven't gotten to talk to the nurse about it yet, but I guess I have to go take the other test now. What does this entail?

You will need to take the 3 hour test now. It is a fasting test. You have your blood drawn, then drink the sugar water, and one hour later you have your blood draw again, then again in an hour, and one more after that.

If you fail that test, then your OB will most likely put you on the GD diet. You may want to research the diet, so you will have some idea of what to expect.

Oh geeze. That sounds awful. I hate getting my blood drawn..this is terrible.

Try not to stress too much--I failed the one hour and passed all four of the draws in the three hour with no problem.

This is what happened to me too. The 3hr test definitely sucked, but lots of people fail the 1hr and pass the 3hr with no problem, so hopefully that will be you too!

I also failed the 1 hour.. Going for the 3 hour tomorrow. Kinda nervous..

I failed my 1 hour also and took the 3 hour yesterday. Still waiting on the results. Honestly, it wasn't a fun morning but it wasn't horrible. They drew blood when I got there and then each hour for three hours after I drank more of that delicious sugar drink. You have to drink twice as much as in the 1 hour. And of course its fasting. Make sure you bring your laptop or something to read. They also said I was welcome to lay down and take a nap in between if I wanted to. Like I said it wasn't fun but honestly the worst part was how hungry I was by the end of it!
