The last 72 hours of my life have been a roller coaster of emotions!
Saturday night, 6:30pm - text message from our former foster home specialist (overseer of our home) "Call me when you're together. Think Pink!"
6:35pm - "I have a friend that has a friend's daughter in active labor, just got her epi. It's a girl. Want more info?" - DUH!
8:30pm - "Things are progressing. She's said yes she wants to meet y'all tomorrow when things settle down"
11:30ish pm - Baby girl born, 5lb 8oz, 34/35 weeker, breathing on her own.
Sunday afternoon, 2:30pm - Our friend went to visit BM and BGM, calls and tells us to come up and we call our lawyer
4:30pm arrive for 5pm feeding. BM doesn't make it down in time, but her and I went in to see baby. She immediately hugged DH and I.
6:30pm - she asks us to be parents to her baby. AGH!!!! We were perfect for her!
Monday AM - I headed up to hang out with BM, DH headed to lawyer. We had a bit of drama concerning BF because BM wanted our name to remain OFF any paperwork he would see (he does not sound like a winner, in fact, the thought of him scares me). We thought about backing out, but we decided to look for other options after our lawyer said he wouldn't do it. All the while texting back and forth with MrsB about every thing!
Monday afternoon - found an agency that would help us, accepted our homestudy done at our foster care agency
Tuesday 2:30pm - BM signed the affidavit waiving her rights
6:30pm - call to foster care agency and officially close our home
Tuesday 8:03pm - I got to hold my little girl for the first time and feed her!
We will be cautiously in love with her for the next 31 days regarding BF.
So CaptSerious, was it what you thought it was? :P
Re: 72 hours
Ahhhhhhh FINALLY!!!! I've been about to burst I wanted to tell everyone so badly!
Congrats Mama! And hope your sweet boys adjust to their new baby sister!
Oh, wow!!! What a thrill!
Lots of prayers for an uneventful 31 days.
Can't wait to hear more... like names
MrsB - when I got off the phone with you, J made me go "off roading" on the shoulder of I-30 to get past the traffic.
silliest - I completely forgot that part! Her name is Savannah.
I have to admit, while I was guessing you had been place with (a) girl(s), I never imagined it was a straight adoption! I also was wondering if it was the girls that you used to foster.
How exciting! CONGRATULATIONS MOMMY!!! Welcome home, Sweet Savannah!
I, too, will be praying for no complications and that you all remain safe. YEAY!!!!! I'm so happy for you!!!!!

OMG that is amazing! I am so happy for you what exciting news!!!!!!!!!! Congrats!
I have a question for you. If I have a homestudy done through the foster care agency we are working through, and come into a situation like you, do you think an agency would accept it? What are the costs for you involved with finding your baby girl this way? You can PM me if you want. I am over the moon excited for you!
What a wonderful and exciting story!! CONGRATS!!!!!!!
I thought is was going to be that the girls were coming back. I'm really happy for you! ( And also insanely jealous!) I'll also be praying for smooth transitions and a smooth TPR/adoption process!
