I hate our power company...

We had a huge storm yesterday. A tree fell on our street and ripped down power lines. No one has even come to look at the damage. I called the power company to tell them we have an oxygen dependent daughter and need power restored quickly. They told me they had more pressing issues. We are now 15 hours without power or heat. Money is tight for having 2 high maintenance twins at home so we cannot get a hotel room and having twins with all Ella's equipment and having to wake ever 3 hours is a bit of imposition... I hate this.

  • Normally I wouldn't suggest this but do you have a local TV news show you can call?  Sometimes they have a consumer advocate and they love stories like this - imperiled baby, sweet Mommy and Daddy just doing their best.  And it's an issue they can press with the power company to get power restored to you faster.  Just a thought.

I like this idea. I remember when Olivia was on an apnea monitor that qualified us to be on some type of "VIP" list- as in our home was a priority because of her need to be monitored. (And Obviously your LOs should be higher on that list for needing O2). I hope things get sorted out and fixed soon.

  • I would keep calling them. I worked for a power company and there are rules that they have to follow for oxygen dependent people. I know they can only work so fast but you should be a priority.

So sorry you have to deal with their nastiness.
