DH and I have some friends who were completely against baby bath tubs. They don't see the point and didn't use one with their now almost 7 year old when she was a baby. So we didn't get one... because DH was concerned about what they would think. They joked about not being friends any more if we got one.
Yesterday I broke down and bought a baby tub for $10 at Burlington Coat Factory. So there!
I'm getting to thinking we need to start a bath routine since I am going back to work soon. It's pretty easy to shower with her, but it would be nice to be able to give her bubble baths or stick her in when she's dirty and I'm not.
DH didn't say a thing about it when he took it out of my car.
What have you done that others disapprove of? Good thing we don't care what others think.
Re: what others think
What a weird thing for someone to be that extreme about. We have a baby bathtub and don't use it because it was a PITA for us and was just easier to have her in the tub with me but I know they work really well for other people. Weird.
I would say cloth diapering is the big one that people disapproved of and I absolutely love.
Yeah, what an odd thing to be so against...
I don't have one this time around. I still bathe DS in the bathtub and it works just fine... for now. lol I will probably end up buying one because he is getting bigger but I have not really needed it yet.
The baby bath has been a godsend for me since I am still healing and couldn't function very well in a shower myself with LO. Gosh, they seem like pretty lame friends to joke about not being friends over a baby bath (but I bet they are great...just weird about this issue). How random though!
I guess the one comment I've had is that someone "shamed" me for taking LO to the beach yesterday. It's not like I laid her in the sun. She was fully shaded and we just walked her in her stroller for a little bit on the sidewalk. We were not out for a long time so I feel completely ok with the situation. I just find it ridiculous that people think they can tell me what to do with my child.

That's probably the stupidest thing I've ever heard someone "disapprove" of. Like someone using a baby tub should really be that worried.
Mine would be bedsharing.

Day Three
We're planning on CD'ing and MIL has mentioned on several occasions that we're destined to fail. There are 2 reasons why we haven't actually started yet. 1) My mom gave us a HUUUGE stash of disposables and I want to use them up while DS still fits in them and 2) I have been a big procrastinator and haven't bought any Rockin Green detergent to pre-wash them in.
We also decided against circ'ing DS, which both IL's were a little pissy about.
