Retrieval results! (looong)

I promised I'd update- we got 11 eggs! Relevant other stats: I had 17 or 18 follicles but there was a good spread in sizes at my last check on Friday. I hoped for more (because who wouldn't) but I expected 10-12 and am very very pleased with 11.

My diagnosis (because that's what I always look for on these posts) is unexplained anovulation. No signs of PCOS or DOR (severe MFI is our IVF indication), AFC was between 12 and 16- my docs don't narrow it down more.

I was out for the procedure. I always wanted a better idea of what happens before and after though. They ran an IV in my arm (would have prefered hand but all my blood draws were in my hand and they couldn't find a good vein that wasn't black and blue) sent my mom and husband to wait in the waiting room, and set me up in the OR. Very simple, very easy. I got the sedation drugs and fell asleep for a lovely nap (it really was astonishingly restful)

Afterward, I woke up groggy and feeling crampy like the worst crampy day of my period which isn't terrible (no endo), just not something I enjoy. They checked my vitals and called my husband in. They gave him the discharge instructions which included a script for vicodin/Tylenol just in case. They wheeled me out to the car in a wheelchair (with an apple juice box!) after telling us we had 11 eggs. DH acquired me chicken noodle soup and fancy pain meds on the way home. I'm not miserable but they help me sleep and rest and my husband is being very very protective of me so they quell my urge to get up and try to do chores and stuff which would drive him nuts. I've slept most of the day asleep and feel pretty great. Sore if I move around too much but if I take it easy I'm not sore at all (thanks vicodin) and in a great mood.
