hi there...do you mind telling me about the cap process (circ related)? I read about it briefly in some handout the doc's office gave to us, but I wasn't sure about it. did they ask you in the hospital if that was the route you wanted to take or did you have to ask?

Re: ::lrb::
Hi! We had to ask for it since it is not the 'standard' method. When we had ds #1, our pedi came to the hospital to do it for us. When we had DS #2, theu no longer allowed pedi's to come in if they weren't the pedi on-call, so we had to have it done in her office the day after we were released. It was very fast. They numbed them up and used the little plastic cap to push the skin back... no cutting, no surgical equipment, etc. We were in the room with #2 (#1 was performed in the nursery at the hospital) and he never really made a peep. There was never any blood and we never had to do anything to it to treat it. The cap fell off after about a week with #2 and about a week and a half with #1. We were pleased with our choice.
Let me know if you have any questions!
