Babies: 9 - 12 Months

Blocks for babies?

I saw that Mega Bloks are for 12 months and older. Anyone recommend another type of block that babies 12 months or younger can use? Thanks!

Re: Blocks for babies?

  • Mega blocks take some coordination to get them together or apart.  I would just get the plain wooden blocks.  DD can stack them and knock them down w/o any issues.

  • They have some really neat blocks at target that are rubbery plastic.  I like them for DD because they are soft enough for her to chew on plus easy to clean.  Each side is a different texture too.

  • DD likes to knock Mega Blocks over and she likes to play with the B. brand ones from Target (not sure if those are the same ones that pp was talking about).

We have the the B brand ones from Target too.  There is also 2nd set on amazon that has piilars, bigger blocks and other shaped blocks.

We love them.  LO loves to chew on them and knock down towers that we build.

  • Love these suggestions! I'm happy that there are even better blocks out there than the Mega Bloks for little ones. DH is a little over eager and wants to pick up some blocks already. :-)
