I was talking to my mil about dd's projectile vomit this morning and she said every grandparent she's talked to said lo had spit up issues. So... [Poll]
She spit up a ton when she was brand new. We lost several bottles during the nights because she would eat, get the hiccups, and then lose everything she had just eaten.
She was still gaining and seemed happy though so the Pedi said it was just an immature digestive system. She still spits up after every bottle and some during play time when she gets kicking really hard but it's no big deal.
My baby is a big time spitter upper. We both go through multiple wardrobe changes daily (which results in a ton of laundry!) It is nothing to be concerned with. My DS had reflux, and I know the signs of it (arching back in pain, crying during/after feedings, etc). DD is a "happy spitter" and although she's a bit on the small side, she's still gaining weight appropriately. I told the pedi and she said that unless she was showing signs of reflux that we didnt have to do anything about it.
She has spit up three times (all three after we attempted to give her her vitamin D drops, which we have since stopped lol).

DS is a big spitter-upper, but it rarely results in an extra feeding or anything. The majority of spit ups appear much larger than they are bc they are mixed with so much spit. I am not sure what you mean by *we did something about it*. Some babies just spit up. If LO isnt having trouble with reflux or weight gain, its not a problem.

By "something" I meant medicine, natural remedies, change of diet, change in way burping, etc.
We are not sure why my dd spits up yet and thus I cannot say for sure that it is reflux, it may be an allergy, although she was prescribed Zantac on Friday. We see a GI in 2 weeks.
Re: [clicky poll] yes or no? so easy, just cick

DS1 - spitter
DS2 - notsomuch
they have both projectile vomited though, which our pedi said is due to an immature muscle at the base of the esophagus.
DS#1 never spit up
DD#1 always spit up ( she had GERD )
DD#2 never spit up
