My doctor recommended that I cut my fish consumption down to one serving per week, and gave me the list of fish that I should cut out altogether. The ones that are the most prone to high levels of mercury were never a regular part of my diet, but I am otherwise a very big fan of fish and shellfish, and eat it at least twice a week if not more. I'm curious - how many servings per week has your doctor recommended?

other than that, i've heard to keep it to 12oz a week or less. most of the filets i buy at the store are 6-8 oz, just for reference. i usually just have half of one of those, so 3-4 times a week is okay.
I eat fish about 1-3 times a week. I usually have salmon, tilapia or canned light tuna. I think the big concerns are about mercury but that is generally only with larger fish and shark. Here is a good reference from the Mayo Clinic:
