Cloth Diapering

softner

if i use regular softner is my normal wash and then wash my cds without it, will there be a problem?  is there going to be a build up in machine that will cause issues with the cds?

The washer isn't as much of an issue as dryer sheets are in the dryer, since most residue should wash off. That said, I'd probably still try to do a quick load without softener between using softener and washing the diapers.

This.  If you really want to keep using fabric softener, you can try Ecover.  It's CD safe, as long as you don't use it on PUL.  It's made our clothes nice and soft, though it hasn't done as much for static as I might like.  Also, dryer balls are a popular option for softening clothes and decreasing static.

thanks!  we don't have ecover readily available here in the bahamas and shipping in would be expensive because of the weight.  but i will try the suggestions.  i haven't started to cd yet as i'm not expecting, but i'm gathering as much information as i can.  good to know i can't use the ecover on PUL though.

my sister is due in august and she said i can try out whatever i've got with her baby when it comes.  i tried to convince her to try cloth herself, but she hasn't budged.
