With DD#1 we did cereal and purees at 4 months. She was ready, she loved them, it was great. With DD#2 I started cereal and purees but have not been very consistent about it. It's much easier to just nurse her instead of going through the big ordeal of feeding her while trying to make sure the toddler doesn't get into anything.
So I'm thinking about putting the cereal and purees on the back burner and start up with BLW in a month or so. Is it essentially where you just give soft small pieces of food and let them eat themselves?

This website has some good info: https://www.wholesomebabyfood.com/babyledweaning.htm
& this book was suggested to me by the boards and I am currently reading it: https://search.barnesandnoble.com/Baby-Led-Weaning/Gill-Rapley/e/9781615190218/?itm=1&USRI=baby+led+weaning+the+essential+guide+to+introducing

I also recommend these. We're doing BLW with DS, and it's going great! I recently started a blog about it too - it's in my siggy.
