Besides that the container is larger?? And how old and how much is your LO eating in one sitting? On most days I am lucky if she eats 1/2 of the stage 1 container (she is 7 months).

I believe they are just a thicker consistency, though I think the ingredients list is a bit longer (more preservatives perhaps?). DD has just now been bumped up in portions/feedings per the pedi's instructions because she is a bit tiny, so we are doing 2x a day, about a tablespoon and 1/2 each time. She still can't really eat all that though, she loses interest.
Stage 2 is usually a thicker texture. Also, they begin to add more seasonings/additives to stage two. As to where stage one is normally just a fruit or veggie, water and preservative.
It's the consistency of the food. Stage 1 is more watery then stage 2. That's the only difference. I make LO's foods but he gets about 2 oz for each meal ( 3 meals a day) so that's about 1/2 a jar of the stage 1 food.

Re: What's the difference between stage 1 and 2 Gerber foods???
This. The consistency might be a little thicker but it's still really similar to stage 1. But combos of ingredients are in stage 2.
