Girl First Name Needed

... One of these days I will learn how to make a clicky poll.  Our daughter's middle name will be June, family name that I LOVE and it has great meaning. 

Right now my DH really likes Amelia, but I'm favoring Genevieve.  What do you liek better with June as the MN? 

Another consideration ... while I really love Genevieve, I don't really want people calling her Gen, I think there are too many "Jen's" in the world.  Do you think people would accept calling her Gena or Evie?

I don't like the combo of Genevieve June. Amelia June sounds better between the two.

I think Amelia June flows better.  I have a friend named Genevieve and we all call her Evie.  However, I didn't know her name was Genevieve until like a year ago.  You can't control what other ppl call her, but if you're consistent about calling her Evie, other ppl will hopefully catch on.

I think Amelia June sounds better as well. I think if you name her Genevieve, I think some friend of hers along the way will call her Gen. I think it's inevitable.

I am friends with a Genevieve and my great-aunt was named Genevieve. People call both of them Gen. I agree with pp that it's inevitable so I would use Amelia. Amelia June sounds better than Genevieve June anyway.

However, I think that Genevieve is pretty, and I like the nn Evie. I think you can definitely steer people away from Gen by setting the nickname yourself if you call her Evie.

I like Amelia June better. That said I think if you introduce your daughter as Evie, people will call her that. One of my girls name is Anne, but we call her Anya (which is Russian), and so far most of the people have called her that.
