Bleeding after HSG // is this normal ?

Well, Friday afternoon I had a HSG test done, which HURT. I was told light spotting would be normal, just like a pap. I have never had spotting after a pap, so I wasn't expecting anything. I bleed quite a bit after the test, but it seemed to stop before I wen't to bed, I have had sex two times now, and it seems like after intercourse the bleeding comes back for awhile, and now I feel very small (hardly noticeable) cramps. Maybe I am just worrying myself too much, but what was your guys experience after HSG ? Should I be concerned ?

I had cramps and period like spotting for several days. It's completely possible that sex is just irritating already sensitive areas due to the hsg. If you're having to use more than a pantyliner I would maybe call your RE tomorrow and ask about it.

I had spotting on and off and cramps for a week after HSG.  I would say it's normal and you probably irritated your cervix from having sex.  They yank on your cervix when trying to navigate the catheter in your uterus. (or at least my doc did)

I would say if you're doubled over in pain or bleeding a lot, then call a doc.

Ditto PPs.  Also, some of the bleeding/spotting could have been from the solution they used to clean your cervix.  It has a redish/brown color

Just had spotting for a few days. So that is normal.

I've had some bleeding (particularly after sex) since my HSG on Wednesday. My Dr. told me to expect some bleeding, so with only a small amount of blood I wouldn't be concerned about it. And you're right... It HURT! The tattoo on my rib cage was nothing in comparison.  

Don't worry about the bleeding unless it continues or gets heavier.

I had mine Thursday afternoon and had some heavyish spotting into Friday.  We had sex on Saturday and I had some spotting after that.  I think it's probably normal.
