i would like to avoid leaving DD in the carseat carrier when we run errands, but I can't get the hang of wrapping my sleepy wrap without the ends dragging all over the ground while I wrap it. Anyone have any hints or secret techniques? With DS, I used to sit in the back seat to tie my wraps, but now there's no room, and it is hard to do in the front seat with the steering wheel etc.

Re: wrapping a newborn while out
Pre tie before leaving the house or tossing the tails in the car are the best options.
I have been pre-tying an FCC in my woven. We end up wrapping even when we take the carrier! DH carries it in, then after a short time DS freaks (the cart is just not enough movement for him I guess) I pull off the wrap (which we use as a blanket in the seat) and voila... happy squishy!
I really like the tails in the car idea! We will be using that trick in the summer so that we can do other carries! (Still a little cold to have him out unwrapped...)
I either put the wrap on before we leave the house or I'll stand with my back to the open car door and make sure that the ends of the wrap stay in the car.
