Pumping Questions

Hi, I have just returned to work and had some pumping questions:

1- Has anyone tried the Pumpin Pals breast shields? They got decent reviews online but was wondering if anyone here had personal experience with them.

2- One of my valves cracked at the bottom when I was carrying it in the metro bag for PISA. Is there anything you do to protect your valves?

3- Do you use olive oil to lubricate your breast every time you pump (I saw this online and was completely unaware of it up until now)

Sorry for the random mix of questions, just didn't want to take up three posts. TIA for your help. Smile

Re: Pumping Questions

  • You shouldn't need to use olive oil  for lubrication.  If it hurts and your nipple is rubbing the inside of the shield when you pump you may need to get bigger shields.  What kind of pump are you using?  Medela has a great nipple shield size guide on their website!  I went up a size because it hurt so bad pumping everytime and now I have no pain and more milk : )  Goodluck!
