My DD has never spent a night away from us. We have never wanted to leave her overnight. She will be staying at my IL's when I have the baby. She is used to sleeping there b/c my MIL watches her while I work. Now I'm wondering if we should have a practice night. What do you think?
Re: Practicing spending the night?
I don't think it's necessary to practice spending the night, but if it gives you the opportunity for a full night of sleep and to really rest before baby, then I'd go for it.
I think because she is familiar with sleeping there during the day you'll be in good shape.
DS will be staying with my parents when I'm in the hospital having DD. DS is close to them, but they don't babysit him on a regular schedule. Because of that it was important to us to have him spend the night a handful of times before we expect him to stay for several nights in a row. He has a bedroom there and I wanted him to get comfortable with his other room, crib, and set of toys.
